“Jerre cooks with your beer!”
Last Wednesday my phone nearly exploded (figuratively speaking). I was on my way to school to teach an evening class on Adobe XD when I received one message after another. All in the style of “Jeroen Meus is cooking with your beer” or “Look at one now” .
Thanks to VRT MAX I was indeed able to catch a glimpse of it just before my lesson started 'Dagelijkse Kost' . Indeed, Jeroen conjured a bottle of La Vignette from the fridge and then my lesson began. I stood in front of the class, floating, knowing that the most successful TV chef in Flanders has started working with my white beer.
My passion/hobby project passed in primetime on Flanders' most famous kitchen counter. La Vignette ends up on an impressive list between beers such as Hoegaarden, Omer, Tripel Karmeliet, Cornet and Rodenbach Grand Cru. Super cool, huh!
When I got home my partner had already set up the TV and with a fresh La Vignette in hand I enjoyed my '15 minutes of fame' . The feeling is indescribable, but it felt so good.
Thank you Jeroen Meus, thank you Hotel Hungaria, thank you Vrt! But also a big thumbs up for Fonk vzw for the creation of the documentary 'Leuven Bierstad' about the history of Leuven beer (and therefore also La Vignette). Thank you!
